Chennai, September 13, 2012: After an adrenaline packed Round Three, action continues in Chennai for Round Four of the JK Tyre Volkswagen Polo R Cup 2012. The young drivers will be pushing their race machines to the extreme as the championship moves in to the second half of the season. The fast and challenging Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT) will allow high speed chases and give ample overtaking opportunities to the young Polo R Cup drivers. With points system being doubled from last round, the gap between drivers is increasing, making the remaining rounds very competitive and crucial.
Championship leader, Ameya, won Race One in the third round and continued his brilliant performance by capturing the second spot in Race Two. Closing in fast at the second spot in the drivers' championship standings, Mihir, displayed some brilliant driving skills too and won the action packed Race Two in Round Three, ending the weekend on a high note.
"The drivers have had some good track time at the MMRT for the first time in TSI Race Polo and their feedback has been very encouraging. The racing has been very close and fair, which is what we have been promoting amongst these young drivers. The weather has always been a challenge here but it is great to see the sheer enthusiasm brought by the Volkswagen Motorsport team. I am eagerly waiting for the race weekend to begin and I would like to wish all the drivers best of luck for a tough battle ahead",said Prithviraj Siddappa, Head of Volkswagen Motorsport India.
